Shabruhr Umm Gmmar
is like a smaller cope of Umm Gammar although it can not be seen above the surface and its shape is more cylindrical. It is located 20 min sailing from Umm Gammar and its name means in free translation “the child of Mother of the Moon”.
Dive route:
The mooring is located on south eastern ridge of the plateau. Under the boat we find a depth of 20 m. On the beginning of our dive we tae the north western direction and after a while we see the wreck of old Police Boat which crashed during the anchoring. The rest of its body is hanging on the ridge of plateau at the depth of 26-30 m. We keep the ridge on our left –hand side looking from time to time into the blue water hoping to see pod of Dolphins. In the afternoon the sunlight penetrates torn edge of the reef creating fantastic light and laser spectacle. One magic place is a tunnel located at the reef at 5 m depth, covered inside completely with soft corals – the best place to take the greatest underwater shots.
Flora & fauna:
This dive site is known to host large numbers of Stone and Scorpion Fish but also the Moray Eels are the popular habitants. Schools of Blue Fusiliers and few huge Travellies are swimming around. From time to time the Reef Shark can be seen here but the real attraction is the Dolphins coming here for hunting or just to check on the divers.
Depth: from 10 m to 40 m
